Ceilidh Shows

Striding Edge have built a reputation as one of the most thrilling and engaging ceilidh bands in England!

Our ceilidh show comprises of Lakeland tunes; jigs, hornpipes, watzes and polkas, that are paired with good soild English dances. The dances are demonstrated and 'called' by band members Mike and Rick, and sometimes Ben and Carolyn, too! No previous experience is necessary from our audiences, just enthusiasm and willingness to 'get up and have a go' and have fun with friends old and new alike!

Because the dance callers are also musicans and band members, our dances are always well intergrated into the music and into our show, giving a natural, unforced feel to our ceilidhs: We get on with creating a heady, friendly atmosphere and making your special night really flow.

To allow this chemistry to happen, we do vary the mix: Our ceilidh nights are always a rich mixture of ceilidh dances and original and traditional songs and tunes to listen and sing-along to. (perhaps a Lakeland clog-dance, too!) These pieces allow the audience catch their breath back, ready for the next dance. We do believe that this mix is true to the original spirit of the celtic ceildih!

As a ceilidh band, we know our music and presentation is very versatile, entertaining and pretty unique!

Hi Mike,
We just had to drop a line to say a very big 'THANK YOU' to you all at our wedding on 25th October at 'The Inn on The Lake'. What a fantastic night Paul and I had, you made our wedding evening one never to forget, our guests are still talking about it! We were so pleased to see from age 8 to 82 dancing away.
